Hello,

rtmp streaming is a specific kind of streaming (using dedicate server) in most of case people used Progressive Download streaming

here some explanation :
www.longtailvideo.com/support/blog/19578...t-is-video-streaming

so the good question is :

where did your video is stored ?

then you will know which streaming you need

hey mr admin, tnx for your response, specially the link you gave... i think i need the progressive download, the video is stored in a joomla server... im using the jwplayer module and the module needs single file / rss, then i choose the single file then below it is i put the path to my video, it works but it doesn't stream it waits for the whole video to finish downloading, please help :(

Hello,
did your file is a mp4 file ?

if yes I think it's encoding issue, you have to re encode it with this tool :

renaun.com/blog/code/qtindexswapper/

an explanation here :

Important considerations when streaming H.264 content

One important thing about playing an H.264 video file as progressive download is that the moov atom needs to be located at the beginning of the file, or else the entire file will have to be downloaded before it begins playing. The moov atom is a part of the file that holds index information for the whole file. Unfortunately, tools such as Adobe Premiere and After Effects place this information at the end of the file, but Adobe is working to fix this in a future update to the CS3 video production tools. This isn't an issue for streaming the H.264 video files, however, so Flash Media Server users can breathe easy.

OMG! I can't believe it worked! Thank you very much! i don't know how to thank you and yes i use mp4, i didn't know mp4 index start at the end of the file, that's why it waits for the whole video to finish downloading before it can play and i noticed flv index already start at the beginning so no need to decode it, it is progressive download ready., thanks for the info on different kind of streaming and specially for the mp4 fix, thank you :woohoo:
